Endorsement Services
The Baptist General Convention of
Missouri provides chaplaincy endorsement services through our partnership with
the Baptist General Convention of Texas. We assist endorsement candidates in
the application process, may participate in the interview process, and work with
the BGCT to provide support and training for chaplains. The Baptist General
Convention of Texas is the official endorsing agency.
The BGCT provides endorsement for those Baptist chaplains who need ecclesiastical endorsement for a professional chaplaincy certification organization or hiring institution. Such hiring institution examples are Department of Defense, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Veterans Administration and Health Care Institutions. Different areas of chaplaincy endorsement include, health care, military, restorative justice ministry, business and industry, public safety, crisis response and pastoral counseling.
Information is available regarding the requirements for a new chaplaincy endorsement or a transfer of endorsement from the Baptist General Convention of Missouri or the Baptist General Convention of Texas. BGCT endorsed chaplains are to send a report monthly on the date of their birth.
