The
planting of new churches is at the heart of the Great
Commission and foundational to any strategy to reach our
communities for Christ. We will seek to assist local
congregations as they plant new churches.
v Establish church planting networks to provide support, assistance and financial resources for new churches
v Develop church planting models and encourage church planting churches
v Assist churches in identifying priority church planting needs
v Provide church planting assessment, strategy assistance, and training resources for church planters and sponsoring churches
The Church Planting Network was established by the Baptist General Convention of Missouri. It is open to Baptists and other Christians involved in or interested in Church Planting. The network was designed to facilitate dialogue and discussion about church planting and the issues related to helping new churches grow to maturity. We hope the network will be helpful to you as you seek to extend the Kingdom.
The Church Planting Network operates as a "yahoo group" via the internet. It allows for e-mail exchange, chat rooms, file sharing and a variety of communication and dialogue resources. If you would like to join the Church Planting Network, please send an e-mail to BGCM@baptistgcm.org or call the convention office at (888) 420-BGCM or (573) 441-2574. Please include your name, church, address, e-mail address, and your interest in church planting. You will receive an e-mail with instructions to access the Church Planting Network.
The Baptist General Convention of Missouri has provided financial assistance to several new churches. If you are interested in being a part of a new church or helping to sponsor a new church, contact the Church Planting Team for more information regarding resources available to assist you.
