Health Insurance Program

One of the major challenges for churches today is providing a quality health insurance program for their pastor and other staff members.  Obviously, many organizations as well as the larger business community is seeking ways to provide cost-effective insurance programs.  We realize that churches also have these concerns.  Some churches have expressed concern that their church may not have access to traditional convention programs due to denominational conflict and policy changes.  The Baptist General Convention of Missouri is committed to assisting churches and ministers as they seek to meet this important need.

The Board of Directors recently approved a recommendation to become an Affiliate Partner with the Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board.  The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board (MMBB) serves those who work for Baptist churches and affiliated organizations—and has since 1911.  MMBB understands the unique blessings and challenges of the ministry, and supports plan members throughout their lives.

MMBB-endorsed health care plans are available to our pre-retired and retired members.   Enrollment will begin at our 2006 Annual Meeting, and the program will become active within a few weeks.

  • The PremierHealth medical and dental plans available through CIGNA; and

  • The Senior Medical Insurance Plans through The Hartford Insurance Company for annuitants who are Medicare-eligible.
