The SHAPE tools are designed to describe many different aspects of who a person is. BGCM believes that until a Christian discovers his or her passionate gifts, the individual will not feel completely fulfilled in Kingdom ministry. More energy and enthusiasm occurs when a person's unique life provides an avenue for a better fit in church life. As Rick Warren says in his book, The Purpose-Driven Life , 'The better the fit, the more successful you will be.'
TheSHAPE© instrument contains 327 items designed to be completed in approximately 75 minutes. It is completed online and reports are provided to each participant by e-mail. A 21-page Interpretation Guide for TheSHAPE© and a document that answers many of the frequently asked questions are included with every report.
ChurchSHAPE© is the software program that is installed on the church computer and provides immediate sorting by any item in TheSHAPE©. It is a database that includes all the records of TheSHAPE©. Every church participant is encouraged to complete TheSHAPE©. Its purpose is to house all persons in a database that allows leaders to invite volunteers into various ministries through the church.
The SHAPE tools are all available without charge to churches desiring ministry from the Baptist General Convention of Missouri. These tools highlight our first priority of serving churches.
For more information about the SHAPE ministry tools, please contact Verlyn Bergen, Resources and Relationships Team Leader, Baptist General Convention of Missouri, vbergen@baptistgcm.org, 888.420.2426 ext.702.
